Standards for Mathematical Practice in Kindergarten

As we support Kindergarten students in developing foundational mathematical knowledge and skills, it’s equally important to nurture their ability to think, reason, and communicate mathematically. The Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMPs) offer a lens for fostering these competencies, helping young learners engage deeply with math in meaningful ways.

You will examine the SMPs and consider how they can be intentionally integrated into Kindergarten classroom experiences to support their development alongside content learning.
